freshfeelingThe seventh session of my first fiesta run was played on July 25, 2017.
We grinded a lot at the end of the previous session, and it wasn't fun at all, really. So now we're just proceeding through the Barrier Tower. We did take the time to fight the Yellow Dragons to claim a Gold Hairpin though, and that's certainly nice.
We proceeded up to Atomos, attempting to use a strategy involving using Sleep after each significant physical attack from Bartssz. Lenna was also using magic while Atomos was asleep to lay the damage on without much in the way of reprisal. Bartz put the Sleep Sword on, too. I applied Shell to the entire party while Atomos was asleep, though I am not sure whether this mitigates Comet damage or not. This may have been the fastest and most painless Atomos fight I've ever had.
In Ghido's Cave, we happened to get a Staff of Light from a Metamorph pretty easily, and a second right as I was leaving. Although Metamorph fights felt pretty long for my team, this area was otherwise pretty simple.
We went to Moore next, which means we get access to some very nice spells. With the -aga tier spells, Lenna is back to being able to clear random battles with some degree of reliability. In Moore Forest, this seemed to include most things other than Galajellies, which absorb most elements.
The fire in Moore Forest is quite possibly the first part where the visual effects of the entire cutscene are obviously improved from previous versions, although I'm sure even this isn't to everyone's tastes. I did think to grab the Aegis Shield before the fire.
I had been somewhat worried about my lack of Flame Rings before fighting the crystals, but I knew that using Shell on everyone early in the battle was going to make a huge difference. We actually just sort of defended and healed until such a time as the party was properly buffed for the crystals' assault. When I was buffed, I went for the top crystal first. I couldn't figure out its weakness, so I just used physicals, and once it went down I slowed down to heal up before taking on the next crystal. The second one I did was the front (Aqua Breath) one, and from there things got easier. To avoid guessing elements, Lenna used the Drain spell a fair bit and that actually landed the final hit.
We did cutscenes resulting in a partial party shuffle and headed to Exdeath's Castle. There was nothing too special in here until the moving bridge room, which I was terrible at (as usual). A bit after the save point, I was able to steal a Judgment Staff from a Black Warlock.
That same battle lasted roughly 15 minutes while I tried to steal an extra Reflect Ring from a Reflect Mage. With this, I was ready for bed, and I saved at that same save point.
