This second session was just over an hour. For some reason I was bright red; perhaps I was embarrassed about my high levels.
After some cutscene stuff, I was grinding on some Wild Nakks outside of Karnak. My idea was that I wanted to rest at the inn to recover MP, but I figured I should spend the rest of my MP as a resource before resting. Then it turns out I didn't, as these battles were fast and trivial enough that it didn't really spend any resources. Wild Nakks are a useful grind in the first world of this game at any point anyway, given their ease and how much money they provide. This is a common place to fight for ages if you need to buy an elemental ring, which for a fair number of harder Four Job Fiesta parties can be a near necessity. Thus, while these extra fights weren't really necessary it also wasn't a terrible idea.
It seemed like the fire ship took ages. The random battles were quite easy, but I was worried about the battle with Liquid Flame given my lack of healing options. Bartz the bard died twice almost right away, where each time the attack that killed him hit for precisely his current HP value, so that was interesting. Shortly after, the four characters HP values were 0, 0, 1, and 1!

But I managed to win anyway when Faris the monk - freshly healed with an Elixir - punched the fire really hard. As one does.

There's a recovery pot before the timed escape sequence, so there was nothing particularly hard about that. I forgot to equip the Smoke ability on Galuf the ninja, unfortunately, and I decided it wasn't important. I went out of the way for things like Esuna and Ribbon even though I could never use those. The second Elven Mantle and the Main Gauche, however, I could make use of! Without Smoke and getting most of the goodies, we still got out with 2:29 on the clock.
I wandered to the Library of the Ancients, and one of the books on the roof reminded me that I hadn't raided the treasures in Tycoon Castle.

I rarely forget that; it's pretty useful for certain jobs, like Geomancer, Samurai, and anyone who really wants a Healing Staff. I hemmed and hawed about going back but I decided to do it. It was quite a walk and I'm not sure it paid off much, but it was nice to have the extra consumables at this point where many are still prohibitively expensive, I guess.
My battle with Ifrit was surprisingly close again, considering how much it feels like I should be steamrolling everything. Ninja Galuf was killed pretty quickly and if Lenna didn't break out a rod-strengthened Shiva at the right time we might've lost that one.
My battle with Byblos was kind of interesting. Ifrit provided great damage, but the status effects came out strong, too. Faris got slowed, Bartz got turned into a toad, and then I was particularly worried when ninja Galuf got confused! Luckily, Bartz' turn came up and he attacked Galuf to fix things.
Another empowered Ifrit after that ended the battle.

"Well, we have a solution. I like when I get confused, and then a frog attacks me. I feel much better. It always helps me to have a frog attack me. I can't be the only one, right?"
Another empowered Ifrit after that ended the battle.
