This second session with the voweless knights was played on January 9, 2022.

I started in Melmond. I didn't notice that I had two errors with characters using vowel-incompatible until shortly after I left town. It was very quick when I observed that No O was wielding the Rune Sword. I realized that No O's best weapon is still the Hand Axe, but since I was on my way to the Earth Cave I figured he should just try and get by with his bare hands for the time being.

Just inside the Earth Cave - like one battle later - I spotted that No E had the Iron Gauntlet on. I quickly trashed it.

I don't think I had these items on invalid characters for enough time or under enough pressure for this to invalidate the run; there were no plot dungeons or anything of that sort in there. You can call me on it in the comment section if you'd like.

With the errors out of the way, here's a rundown of the starting equipment as we entered the Earth Cave.
No EDragon Sword, Iron Armor, Cap
No O(no weapon, but can use Hand Axe), Silver Bracelet, Cap
No ASilver Sword, Cloth, Iron Shield, Iron Helm, Gloves
No IRune Sword, Copper Bracelet, Wooden Helm, Copper Gauntlet
The knights are in that particular order based on their absorb/defense ratings.

On B3 of Earth Cave, we ran into a pack of Wizards that treated us very badly. Only two knights survived, badly damaged. I wasn't going to beat the Vampire under those conditions, so I attempted to walk out. We then died about 8 steps from the exit to a pack of Cobras.
Mean Wizards. No A and No I finally met their fates against these Cobras.

We were short on potions, so I decided to make a bit of a shopping trip anyway. We'd get some Heal Potions and, since we're heading back into the Aldi Sea we may as well get No O the Hand Axe (again). On our way back to the ship, we had an amusing battle with Shadows where No I was the only knight who could see! No I! Get it? Har har har.
No I can see!

B3 of the Earth Cave struck again with a Coctrice petrifying No O, but I had exactly one Soft Potion. I was surprised that my knights couldn't take out the Vampire in a single turn, but they didn't! No A took him down at the start of turn 2 without us taking a point of damage.
We defeated the Vampire!
A step or two later, unfortunately, we ran into four Wizards again. We won, but it was tough and they killed No O. I wasn't expecting any particular trouble leaving. I realized that going back for the Hand Axe for No O may have been a bit shortsighted since he was going to benefit from both the Great Axe and the Silver Axe.

It ended up that I wanted to get the Great Axe and Sarda's Rod before doing a shopping trip in Crescent Lake. No O was also still dead from the Earth Cave, but I picked up the Great Axe for him even though he wasn't going to get a real chance to use it before the Silver Axe. In Crescent Lake, No I was also able to use the Buckler, No A was able to use a Silver Shield,  No O wanted some Silver equipment too, and there's loads of it in treasure chests coming up, but since I could afford it I just decided to go for it. With that, No O went from having the lowest absorb rating to the highest!
Armor screen around Crescent Lake.

I thought we were incredibly, over-the-top prepared for Earth Cave we had a really terrible stun-lock / paraplink battle with 4 Ghouls and 3 Geists. It lasted minutes, and I'm sure it consumed at least 10 Heal Potions worth of hit points. That trip really could've ended there, but we got away eventually.

Then Earth Cave B3 struck again, for a third time.
The entire party was petrified by birdies.
We didn't even have a chance to respond!

The next run went better, with no notable battles. We potion'd up right before Lich. Lich's opening ICE2 spell did double damage on most of the team, taking out a big chunk of No O's HP. Our own damage was pretty meagre, somewhere near 200 HP by the end of turn 2. We'd be taken down considerably if another elemental spell came... but it didn't! And our crew of knights won on the third turn.
We defeated Lich!

That's exciting! Getting the canoe opens up our options. I was excited to realize that the Ice Sword would be useful to No A and the Zeus Gauntlet for No O, which made it seem like beelining Castle of Ordeals would be a good idea. We went to Ordeals, saving outside so that the party wipes would be less of a headache. This turned out to be a good idea; some R.Goyles decimated the team after we had been weakened by Nitemares.

The second attempt worked out better, and it was great to get our prizes. We beat the Zombie Ds by the skin of our teeth.
"Next time, let's go to the Castle of Fun or something!"

I happened to go back to Elfland after. Since I had some money, I thought I'd purchase the level 3 spells for my knights, meaning they would all get CUR2 and No O and No E could learn AFIR. Unfortunately, I accidentally bought AFIR for No A and felt pretty silly about that pretty quickly. I guess as long as I don't use it, it's no big deal... though I'll see about modifying the save to fix it between sessions anyway.

At the end of the session, we saved at Crescent Lake.
