[This entry is adapted from the original GameFAQs posts written around the time the gameplay took place in August of 2016. It is actually being posted in March of 2023 around the origin of this blog. There may be minor edits.]

There was a substantial delay before playing this time due to some of the heaviest "life happening" periods of my life. This involved having a baby, getting a new job, starting a new educational program, and a relative passing away and the various events and stresses that come with any or all of these things.

I fully expected that the remainder of the run would be two sessions prior to playing this one: one for Kraken and Tiamat, and one for the endgame.

Once again, the sound quality on the stream was pretty bad.

I had kind of forgotten how long it had been since I played so you hear me say in this session things like, "I'm two months out of practice". It turns out I last played on June 27th, so it wasn't nearly that long of a hiatus.

This one wasn't that long of a session, just about 45 minutes. I needed some sleep! So rather than push to be done by session 12 by taking out Kraken and Tiamat tonight, I just finished the Sea Shrine, including Kraken. In the Kraken battle, I was very mindful of my "cast each spell once" rule, so on turn 1 Mars used FAST on Tick, on turn 2 Mars used FOG2 thinking it would mitigate the chance of Kraken mauling someone (as sometimes happens), on turn 3 Mars used INV2, and on turn 4 Mars was ready to cast LIT3 with his last level 6 spell slot but Tick defeated Kraken before that went off.
aw, you made me ink!

After Kraken, I killed/revived party members as needed and set camp outside Mirage Tower to make quick work of Tiamat next time.
Here's how the party looked immediately after Kraken:
The party, after Kraken
And here's how they looked when we saved:
The party before Tiamat
In regards to Diamond_Dragon's rule, Wood was dead vs. Lich, Tick was dead vs. Kary, Look was dead vs. Kraken, and now Mars must be dead when we face Tiamat. As well, one of them has to remain dead through the rest of the game.

Keeping in mind the other rules: what parties should one take to the ToFR? I am pretty solid on Tick, Wood and Look because of the rules related to mages/magic but I'd be happy to hear some other points of view.

I'm not really afraid of the trip to Tiamat at all but I think ToFR will be pretty crappy.

Two times during this session I made mistakes related to my rules and immediately reset. In both cases I had just saved so it wasn't the Elfland debacle again.
