Final Fantasy III Classic Jobs Part VI

This session was played a couple of weeks after the previous one, on October 1, 2017.
We immediately found and entered the Temple of Time. We got a Diamond Helm, which is great because Refia the thief has been bafflingly tankier than Ingus the knight for a while. Some enemies here were a bit tougher, like the Chimera Mages with their strong Lightning attack.

To explain that situation a bit more, I kept leaving Ingus' HP a bit lower when I healed up between battles figuring that he would recover at least partially using his Blood Sword. Reviving people isn't trivial, given how limited Phoenix Downs are in this game, so I exited the Temple, healed up and shopped, and went back. This second trip somehow went worse.

The next attempt went better; I was pretty excited to get the Defender, for one thing!

The Diamond Mail one floor down was also a very substantial upgrade.
Finding all these goodies left a tense feeling while playing, since I knew a random battle with Chimera Mages or another strong enemy had a chance to go sideways. A random enemy called Dragon was also pretty nasty with a strong, multi-target Flame attack. Next, I was surprised to run into a Behemoth, which I fought while explaining how the numbers of the first several Final Fantasy games worked.
Shortly after, we fought another Dragon. Again, the battles have a lot of potential to turn against the team here.

I haven't generally been running successfully, but I didn't see myself having another option. I was very pleased that this worked... even though I'd need to use a few of my rather limited Phoenix Downs to get everyone back up. I had gotten so far and gotten so many goodies I really didn't want to have to start over. The next time I encountered this Dragon, I just ran. On these rare occasions where I wanted to escape combat, for some reason it seemed like Refia's Flee command fails more often than the other characters.
We managed to get to Noah's Lute. I was surprised that there was no boss here, but the dungeon was tough enough. Before leaving I wanted to make sure I hadn't skipped anything, so I went back to a prior treasure room and got Diamond Gloves and a Behemoth Knife. Then I teleported out.
I returned to Doga's Village to buy some more spells, grabbing Firaga, Bio, Haste and Aeroga.

I also noted that Refia was almost at job level 99, which has me curious about when and where I can do the Legendary Smith quest(s). That might present an opportunity in the near future.
